Looking for the best TAE40116 Training provider?

Be careful when comparing providers of the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – we’re not all created equal! Many training providers require you to:

  • Undertake vocational placement (AND organise it yourself!),
  • Have access to a workplace coach and qualified assessor,
  • Be employed by an RTO or have access to an RTO’s internal systems,
  • Have access to eight adult learners to whom you deliver presentations (twice!),
  • Have access to currently enrolled students to assess their language and literacy abilities, or
  • Have access to students with language or literacy difficulties to whom you must use support strategies.

We don’t! We fully support our Intensive+ and iClass+ course students by providing access to all necessary support and resources. We provide everything! It’s what we do!

Seven questions to ask a prospective TAE40116 training provider

The TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has strict assessment tasks that you must complete before you can be awarded the qualification. Although all TAE40116 training providers must ensure they assess students against these criteria, how they accomplish this can differ tremendously. Mature training organisations will have structured their classes and real-time support to minimise the pain for students to complete these tasks. So be sure to ask these specific questions of any prospective TAE40116 training provider:

I have to assess five candidates under the supervision of a qualified assessor for unit TAEASS402 (Assess competence).  How will you help me do this?

If they require YOU to organise a qualified workplace assessor and do it in your own time, consider another training provider!  Plenty Training provides all students (in the Intensive+ classes, iClass+ course, and Distance+ course) with a one-day workshop focusing purely on this activity.

The practical element for unit TAEASS402 (Assess competence) must be completed under the direct supervision of a qualified trainer who holds the TAE Diploma (or higher). How will you help me with this?

Steer clear of providers who say you can complete this assessment task under the guidance of a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment holder OR that you can record this activity for submission. This does not meet unit requirements! Plenty Training’s students will complete this activity in class (Intensive+ and iClass+ students) or via an online interactive one-day assessment workshop (Distance+ students).

Do you require me to undertake vocational placement (such as within another training company) to be awarded the qualification?

If they do, they haven’t designed thorough in-class assessment opportunities, and you may want to consider another training provider! Plenty Training’s students can complete the ‘meatier’ assessment tasks in class. Distance+ students are also afforded the opportunity to attend a special workshop focused purely on the ‘meatier’ assessment tasks.

Do you require me to be employed by a real training organisation or have access to a training organisation’s internal systems to be awarded the qualification?

If they do, they certainly are not the best training provider and haven’t designed suitable in-class assessment opportunities. You may want to consider another training provider! Plenty Training provides access to all resources and support that simulate an RTO’s operations, so there’s no need for our students to attempt to find another training provider who is willing to give you access to their systems and students.

I have to deliver three significant training sessions to audiences of eight in unit TAEDEL401 (Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning). Will you help me organise the audiences?

Find a different training company if they require YOU to organise the audiences!  Plenty Training’s Intensive+ class and iClass+ course students enjoy a three-day workshop where the focus is on delivering these presentations, witnessing others’ presentations, and gaining powerful insights into content delivery techniques via our experienced trainers’ detailed feedback.  We firmly believe that the best learning is in the ‘doing’! Distance+ class students are also provided the opportunity to attend an optional two-day workshop (extra fees apply).

Plenty Training assist with the delivery of three significant training sessions to audiences of eight in unit TAEDEL401 (Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning).

I have to conduct two coaching / mentoring sessions with two individuals in unit TAEDEL402 (Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace). How do you assess this?

Find a different training company if they require YOU to organise the individuals or have access to a workplace assessor to witness the sessions! Plenty Training’s Intensive+ and iClass+ course students gain valuable insights into coaching / mentoring techniques by delivering coaching, witnessing others’ coaching, and gaining powerful insights into content delivery techniques via our experienced trainers’ detailed feedback.

Plenty Training will help you conduct two coaching / mentoring sessions with two individuals in unit TAEDEL402 (Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace).

I have to use two strategies that address the language or literacy challenges of real (enrolled) vocational learners when I deliver training to them – and also use advice from specialist LLN practitioners – in unit TAELLN411 (Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills). Will you provide me with an opportunity to deliver this to real vocational learners, and will you provide me with access to a LLN specialist?

If they require YOU to organise the learners or specialist, find a different training company! Plenty Training’s Intensive+ and iClass+ course course students gain valuable insights into how to deal with problematic in-class behaviour by having you deliver training to students with (simulated) learning, language and behavioural problems. It’s an incredibly fun exercise and prepares you well for the real-world challenges of training delivery!
