TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set

The TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set is designed for people delivering training under supervision in the VET sector. People who would most benefit from this course are those who train others in nationally recognised units of competency within a workplace. The role may involve some coaching at individual or small group level.

Under the Standards for RTOs 2015 (clauses 1.17 to 1.20) people who are not formal trainers or assessors may deliver training under the supervision of a qualified trainer if they possess this Skill Set.

The two units delivered in this Skill Set also provide credit towards the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (one unit may be used as an elective unit):

  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation
  • TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction

Course options

There are a number of ways to complete the TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set:


Distance+ course (distance learning and live and interactive webinars) plus comprehensive ongoing online support - $540

Students complete unit TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction via distance learning and BSBCMM401 Make a presentation via Virtual+ class. Where available, students can attend live webinars consisting of trainer-led sessions from any location without the cost or hassle of travelling to a particular venue. The course consists of:

  • Distance learning for unit TAEDEL301 where students refer to their learner guide and complete the assessment workbook in their own time in their own workplace.
  • A virtual classroom option for BSBCMM401 which consists of a four-hour live online session with a trainer, delivered monthly throughout the duration of the course, and which can be repeated as many times as desired. (Recorded sessions are also available.)
  • Recorded online tutorials covering unit assessment 'how to' information.
  • Fortnightly trainer-led Q&A support sessions.
  • Assessment activities completed in the student's own time.
  • Independent learning activities.

During the virtual class session, you interact with your trainer and can ask questions. You can attend the same session multiple times and are also able to review the recorded session afterward.



Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - $540

Students undertaking training have 12 months from their enrolment date to complete their studies and submit all assessment workbooks for this course. RPL candidates have 12 months from their enrolment date to complete their RPL interview and submit all required evidence. (Students may extend the duration of their enrolment on a month-by-month basis – extra fees apply as detailed in our schedule of fees.)  Students may complete and submit their assessment workbooks at any time during their enrolment.

The following figures summarise the anticipated student workload as per our Training and Assessment Strategy for these units.  This represents the notional duration of all activities required for the achievement of the learning outcomes.  These figures represent a combination of all formal training delivered in this course (however students are not obligated to avail themselves of all offered training and resources), and the anticipated self-study and assessment workload for a student who has no knowledge or skills in any of the content of the delivered units.

Assessment

All students receive a learner's guide and assessment workbooks via the online student portal. You can either work through the assessment workbooks on your computer or print and complete a version by hand.

Student authenticity

We are obliged under the Standards for RTOs 2015 to ensure the authenticity of our students’ submitted assessment work.  Students are required to:

  • A. Present a valid form of government-issued photo identification card (such as a driver’s license) for our trainer to review at the commencement of all face-to-face classes;
  • B. Include a paper or scanned copy of your government-issued photo identification when submitting any video recording of you undertaking an assessment task remotely; and
  • C. Provide us with your Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Distance Learning

Our Distance+ course consists of a combination of:

  • Self-paced learning and assessment:  Distance learning students access their learning materials electronically, interact with their instructors and assessors via telephone or email, and submit their completed assessments via email or post. Your Learner Guides and Assessment Workbooks are included in the student portal, and you will work through these at your own pace.
  • Independent learning and assessment activities: Wherever possible, it will be beneficial to consider and integrate your learning into your professional practice.

RPL Pathways

RPL is an assessment only process that is designed for those who possess substantial existing skills and knowledge in a specific industry. It allows people to demonstrate their competence in these skills without first having to be trained. Our RPL kit is based on a combination of evidence submission and a competency interview conducted via phone.

Pre-Requisites

1. Digital prerequisites – all students:  You must have access to a computer (with Adobe Reader and Microsoft Word installed) and a reliable Internet connection to access your learning documentation. You will also require access to a video recording device (such as a webcam or smart phone) to record yourself undertaking certain assessment activities. You must be comfortable using technology to locate information and research topics – for example to find a copy of a regulation using Google –  and in using the main features and functions of digital tools (such as word processing programs, email and printers) to complete work tasks.


2. LLN prerequisites – all students:  All students must possess the following language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) abilities:

A. Learning ability: You must be comfortable using your experience to reflect on ways that variables impact outcomes, and identify future improvements.  You must be self-directing, able to manage your own learning, and be able to plan and balance multiple requirements and meet deadlines.

B. English reading ability: You must be comfortable reading and interpreting a range of documentation relevant to the subject – this includes organisational policies and procedures and assessment instructions.  Our Diploma and Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) courses also require students to be able to read and analyses complex WHS legislative and organisational texts. Our Project Management courses also require students to analyse and interpret a range of complex materials – students must be comfortable reviewing information relating to budgets, timelines and project requirements.

C. English writing ability:  You will be required to draft and develop various documents using appropriate format and language for the context and the audience. You must be comfortable writing documents such as formal documents, including instructions, information updates and completing report templates.

D. English speaking ability: You will be required to participate in verbal exchanges using clear language and appropriate tone and syntax to provide relevant information.  You must be able to use active listening and questioning to elicit views and opinions of others.
