The Story Behind ACE

It started at a compliance seminar—one of those big industry events where the right people talk about the real issues.

Around the room, RTO owners and managers voiced a shared concern: “It’s hard to be confident when hiring new staff, managing contractors and existing staff, or re-engaging returning trainers.” The message was clear—confidence in trainer quality was slipping.

And the more we listened, the clearer it became. Other industries—like first aid and childcare—have systems in place. Annual checks. Ongoing licences. But in training and assessment? Nothing. Once qualified, there was no consistent way to prove currency or competence without a full update.

At the same time, the pressure was building. Skills shortages were driving demand for qualified trainers through the roof. And with recent changes to RTO Standards making it easier for people to return to training, the gap between qualification and quality was only widening.

So, we asked ourselves: What if there was a smarter way to verify and support trainers—without forcing them through unnecessary updates?

The result is ACE.
