Update to TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education & Training

TAE50122 Update Entry Requirements
It is important to have an understanding of the entry requirements included as part of the TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education & Training course. Please take the time to carefully read the below information prior to completing our online update eligibility application form.

Those entering this qualification must meet the following prerequisite unit requirements that are applicable to their enrolment (up to four):

Packaging rules - Total number of units is 12.

Three core units, plus

Nine elective units, of which:

at least 5 must be from the chosen specialisation group A, B or C

of the remaining elective units:

at least 2 must be chosen from the elective units listed below

up to 2 may be from any currently endorsed Certificate IV or above training package qualification or accredited course, provided that no more than 1 of these 2 units is from a Certificate IV qualification.
Elective units chosen must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid vocational outcome for personnel in the VET sector working at this level.

SPECIALISATIONS

One of the following three specialisations must be used for this qualification.

Advanced Training and Assessment
Design and Development
VET Leadership.

The achievement of a specialisation will be identified on testamurs as follows:

TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Advanced Training and Assessment)

TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Design and Development)

TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Leadership)

Advanced training and assessment
Select at least 5 elective units from Group A Advanced training and assessment, 1 of which must be:

TAEASS512 Design and develop assessment tools.

Design and development
Select at least 5 elective units from Group B Design and development, 1 of which must be:

TAEASS512 Design and develop assessment tools.

VET leadership
Select at least 5 elective units from Group C VET leadership.

Be sure to provide a copy of your TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment qualification. If you hold the TAE40110 you will be required to update specific units that have been deemed a prerequisite for the Diploma.

Note there are specific questions also for each of the units where you may be asked to explain in more detail the relevant experience you have had with those requirements (for example many of them require you to have been training and assessing vocational training on units of competency from a nationally recognised training package or accredited course as found on www.training.gov.au)

Once we have received your completed Update RPL application we will review your relevant experience, the units you would be suitable to undertake via RPL and ensure your experience aligns with the packaging rules for this course.
