What is the average time it takes students to complete this course?
Students have up to 12 months to complete their studies. Each student is different and the amount of time it will take you depends on your individual circumstances. Factors to consider include family and work commitments as well as the amount of time you are looking to dedicate each week to your studies.

Am I able to do the course in a shorter time than my course enrolment duration?
Yes, you can submit your workbooks as soon as you are ready.

What am I getting myself into?
The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is an important qualification and the workload involved does reflect this. As a potential student you need to be aware that there is a lot of work involved when you undertake a Certificate IV, and there is more to this qualification than just the ability to stand in front of a class and present (for example develop assessment tools or interpret national standard documentation). We want to ensure you are prepared before getting started.

I am interested in the Flexible Workshops; will I be qualified after them if I choose to complete all of the available additional Workshops?

No. Our Workshops are a great way to cover many of the practical assessment activities^ included in the course. Outside of class time you must complete the pre-class assessment activities, view the recorded unit theory lessons, complete the remaining assessment work (such as short answer questions), and submit your assessment workbooks within the course duration.

^A practical assessment activity is defined as an assessment task where you must have access to other individuals, groups or a qualified trainer and assessor to meet the task requirements. For example short answer questions are not considered a practical activity.

What is the maximum number of students able to attend a face-to-face or iClass+ Workshop course?

Our Workshops are capped at 20 students to ensure each individual receives the attention they require to get the most out of their Workshop time.

Is it possible to complete this course 100% online?

All students will have a one-day interactive online assessment Workshop for the unit TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation which is included as part of your course. They will also have an optional half-day Workshop to get a head start on the introductory unit, BSBINS303 Use knowledge management systems. If you wish to complete all practical tasks on your own please read the pre-requisites on the TAE40122 course page to see if you can meet the requirements.

Are there any activities included in the course that I am unable to complete on my own?

There are many activities included in the TAE40122 where you will be required to have an interaction on some level with others. Some of these activities will require you to simulate scenarios with a colleagues or friends where you will need to record the interaction or have them provide feedback on an activity.

I live overseas and cannot do a practical component in Australia. What are my options?
The TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation practical day is available via an interactive online assessment workshop for Distance+ students. This means you can attend this workshop from anywhere in the world if you have access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with audio and webcam functionality.
Please ensure you read all of the pre-requisites noted on the TAE40122 course page prior to enrolling.

I have been doing some training in my current role. Am I eligible for full Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
The full RPL process is best suited to trainers and assessors who have worked with delivering national units of competency in the vocational education and training sector for several years. If your experience is more limited, or you have delivered training in other sectors (such as a high school teacher, university lecturer, or enterprise trainer) then you may be a good candidate for our Teacher’s RPL+GAP training pathway.

I have the old BSZ (2002) or TAA certificate and I would like to update it, Is this possible?
We do not offer an upgrade from the superseded BSZ or TAA qualifications to the new TAE40122. If you have been working as a trainer and assessor since attaining your qualification you may be eligible for RPL or enrolment into our Teacher’s RPL+GAP pathway.

What support do you offer if I need to speak with someone about my course?
There are several different ways that we assist our students with their studies. For academic queries we have a support inbox which is monitored by our trainers and assessors, we run weekly live trainer-led study sessions and our students gain access to our Facebook student community group. Our support inbox gives students the opportunity to get clarification on any questions that they may have, and to request a phone call if they wish to speak with an assessor. Students also have access to weekly live online orientation webinars hosted by our Student Experience Coordinator. For any queries relating to your enrolment our administration team are in the office from 9am-5pm (Monday-Friday).

Can you confirm if conducting my group facilitation tasks to 13-18 year olds is acceptable?
This course is for adult learners. When you are conducting group facilitation as part of your course please use adult learners as your participants.

Do I have to book into additional Workshops to do my presentations?

All students can elect to conduct and pre-record their presentations for submission, however students can elect to purchase additional three-day face-to-face Workshops to complete their presentations in class and will therefore not need to record their presentation.

How long does it take for students to complete all the workbooks after the face-to-face or online classes based on your past records?
Asking how long it takes to complete a workbook is like asking ‘how long is a piece of string’! The amount of time it will take you to complete the workbooks will depend on your individual circumstances and drive.

Do I need to submit all of my workbooks before attending a presentation workshop?
Before attending a presentation workshop you need to make sure you have completed the relevant learning and prepared your presentations, however you do not need to have submitted any of your workbooks.

I am hearing impaired and want to know if the theory lessons or study support sessions will have closed captions?
Our recorded theory lessons and study support sessions do not include closed captions. We are more than happy to provide you with a MP4 file of our webinar recordings if you have access to software that will add captions to the recordings.

I already hold some units from the superseded qualification. Am I able to get credit transfers for them?
Yes. You are able to get credit transfers for units you have completed from the superseded qualification as long as they are academically equivalent.

Do you charge additional fees for credit transfers or partial RPL?
There is no additional charge if you credit transfer or undertake RPL (first application only) for any of the units from the TAE40122. If you wish to undertake a second round of RPL (additional units) additional fees apply.

What can I expect from the assessments for this course?
You will have 12 workbooks to complete for this course; one for each unit. All tasks are competency based so you will not need to sit any exams. Within your workbooks you can expect to complete tasks such as short answer questions, validating assessments, conducting presentations, plus many more exciting activities.

How long does it take for my submitted workbooks to be assessed?
Once we have received your workbook submission there is a turnaround time of approximately 20 working days from the date it is received. The timeframe can vary depending on the number of assessment submissions being received at any given time.

How many submissions are required, and am I able to resubmit if I am deemed not competent in a unit?
As part of your course you will need to submit 12 workbooks (one per unit) to be assessed. If you are deemed not competent for a unit you will be provided with feedback and given two opportunities to resubmit.

Is this trainer qualification only relevant in Australia or can I use it overseas?
The TAE40122 is a nationally recognised qualification within Australia. Although we have catered to students living overseas it would be best to check with any potential international employer that they will accept this qualification.

Does payment need to be made upon enrolment?
We must receive full payment of the course fee before you are able to gain access to your course materials or attend any classes. If you are unable to pay the course fee upfront, our no deposit, six month interest-free payment plans via zipMoney may be a great option for you.

Will I cover all of the practical assessments for the course in one Workshop or do I need to book multiple Workshops?

If you would like to book additional Workshops, each multiple or single day Workshop will cover the practical elements of one cluster (Design, Delivery, Compliance & Development, Assessment, Short Answer Questions). Students wishing for additional support in multiple clusters will need to book separate Workshops. These can be spread out over the duration of the course.
